next time someone graces you with an unexpected thoughtful moment, thank them for being so very ‘Downton’. i think that is part of what’s so appealing about Downton Abbey. The gestures of respect. Yes, yes we know the class issues, but still, they do respect each other. They hold their tongue, unless they have an incredibly clever response and yet, remain on terms with everyone.
and the costumes and gorgeous actors and actresses don’t hurt either.
